A conservative Republican candidate for the Oklahoma House of Representatives’ newly formed District 20, which includes parts of four counties and the city of Norman, Oklahoma, Bobby Cleveland served on and chaired the Cleveland County Republican Committee for many years before pursuing political office. A resident of Slaughterville, Oklahoma, Bobby Cleveland grew up in South Oklahoma City and established his own manufacturing businesses in the area in the years following. He is running on a campaign that includes reducing state spending and personal income taxes and converting the state’s vehicle fleet to operate on compressed natural gas.

An integral member of the business community in Norman, Oklahoma, Bobby Cleveland established his manufacturing companies there after working for and developing partnerships with Walmart during the retailer’s early days. These business included The Bob Cleveland Company, which produced recycled golf balls and golf accessories for Walmart, and Physical Performance Health, LLC, which creates natural pain ointments.

Bobby Cleveland attributes his success in the small business arena to his strong family and community values. Over the years, he has volunteered his time as a Sunday school teacher and Royal Ambassador leader with First Baptist Church in Lexington, Oklahoma. He also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate responsible for helping children from families with histories of abuse, drug dependence, or both navigate the court system. Mr. Cleveland has also held positions with the Lexington Public Schools Board and the Excise Board of Cleveland County, all while raising two sons, Rob and Rod, with Barbara, his wife of 49 years.

Today, Bobby Cleveland serves as the mayor of Slaughterville and as a member of the board of the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments.
